Day 2 brought with it an interesting combination of killer hills and unplanned adventures. We had a bit of a late start in the morning because I’d needed some time for sewing – my panniers had started to rip at the seams and were in need of reinforcement. It’d been an exciting month already. In just a matter of weeks, I’d finished my Bachelors thesis, welcomed the family in Maastricht, graduated, found a cycling buddy for the first leg of homebound, spent some days at a music festival in Belgium, and packed my bags to send home all that was not coming with me by bike with my ever-so-kind brother.
